Salsoul Records Awarded by the Philadelphia Music Alliance

The ceremony takes place October 24, 2013 at noon in Philadelphia.

On October 24th, 2013 the Philadelphia Music Alliance will honor Vincent Montana Jr. and the MFSB Orchestra on the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame 2013 for their work with Salsoul Records.

Vincent Montana Jr. was the vibes player, arranger and conductor who led the Salsoul Orchestra to years of unforgettable music. The MFSB Orchestra were the principal back up band of the Salsoul Orchestra whose hit "Love Break (Ooh I Love It) was sampled on Madonna's "Vogue." Their bronze plaques will join over 100 Philadelphia Greats such as Hall & Oates, Gamble & Huff, Chubby Checker, The Delfonics, Dizzy Gillespie, Teddy Pendergrass and many others whose accomplishments have had a significant impact on the world of music.

Philadelphia Music Alliance, a non-profit orgranization, was established in 1986 by a group of music industry leaders and concerned citizens. Its mission is to recognize and honor the Philadelphia areas outstanding artists, writers, producers and industry executives from all music genres whose accomplishments have had a significant impact in the world of music.
